Alain Monié

Alain Monié serves as president and chief operating officer of Ingram Micro Inc. Based in the company's headquarters in Santa Ana, California, Monié is responsible for the overall operating performance of the company with particular emphasis on driving corporate policies, strategies and profitable growth initiatives.
Monié was named president and chief operating officer of Ingram Micro Inc. in 2007. He joined Ingram Micro Inc. in February 2003 as executive vice president, bringing more than 28 years of international corporate experience to the company's executive team. He became president of the company's Asia-Pacific region in early 2004. In the three years under Monié's leadership the region doubled in size after the acquisition of Tech Pacific, transforming from a break-even business in early 2004 to one of the company's more profitable regions today.
As a corporate executive for renowned international companies, Monié has played a leading role in building successful organizations throughout the world. He spent more than two years as president of the Latin American Division of Honeywell International, responsible for all countries from Mexico to Chile and the Caribbean. He joined Honeywell through the corporation's merger with Allied Signal Inc., where he built a 17-year career on three continents, progressing from a regional sales manager to head of Asia-Pacific operations.
Prior to joining Honeywell, Monié spent 12 years in Asia, leading Allied Signal's expansion into China and enhancing its presence in India. He held general management positions with Sogitec Inc., a French aerospace simulation corporation, and was a controller for Renault, a French automotive firm. He began his career in Mexico City as a civil construction engineer.
Monié was educated in France, earning an MBA from the Institut Supérieur des Affaires in Jouy en Josas. He received high honors in his Automation engineering studies at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Metiers. He is fluent in three languages.
